TRUST IN OUR PREMIUM COMPOST PRODUCT
Dirt Rich uses a thermal composting process while following organic composting standards to ensure our piles reaching 130+ degrees fahrenheit for over 48 hours. This helps ensure no unwanted pathogens or seeds survive the composting process. We use a variety of inputs and are particular in our processes to offer the highest quality compost available in the Flathead Valley.
WHAT IS COMPOST? WHAT CAN IT DO FOR YOUR GARDEN OR FARM?
Compost is not soil and it is not dirt and not all compost is the same! It’s a holistic soil amendment made of decomposed organic matter that provides your soil with a dose of plant available nutrients and the microscopic biota necessary to continue unlocking nutrients long after it’s been applied. It’s a long term solution to soil infertility, and pest and weed management when utilized with appropriate soil stewardship methods. Our compost is different than other compost options. We craft ours with regenerative agriculture in mind, helping to build the soil and reintroduce important microorganisms to the soil. This results in healthier, more nutrient dense plants for harvest.
Low quality compost is a waste of your money!

ARE WE ORGANIC?
We aren’t currently certified organic, but we follow the same guidelines that are required of business selling organic compost with one exception. We accept compostable plastics. We feel we have a duty to service our community by providing this option to compost these material rather than landfill them. Compostable plastics has synthetic binders in them, which is why if used in compost production, it cannot be certified organic by state standards. Our mix is comprised of food waste, wood chips, leaves, spray free hay, garden cutback and 10% or less select horse manures. We turn our piles five times to ensure a healthy and synthetics free product. We test our product annually to check for any herbicide contamination.
